Programme:

We plan to sail from Ranong, Thailand, northward. Weather permitting we will reach the Mergui Archipelago. En route we will try to survey as many coral reefs as we can, in accordance with the Reef Cheek methods. For details please visit the  Reef Check Website.

During the first two days we will have a theoretical introduction and short training in these methods. Later we will carry out the actual surveys. We will also have a chance to visit islands, coastal settlements and cities in Myanmar. In addition to the surveys we will also have fun snorkeling and diving.

There are no preset daily schedules. We will make plans along the way as many things are unforeseeable. We intend to make one dive per day. We can assure you that all this will be great fun and even the Reef Check "working dives" are exciting. If time allows we will enter data collected during the surveys and make preliminary analysis of the results.

If you have time, consider staying on some weeks longer in this wonderful area.
